...because my Wal-mart is subject to blue laws.

Sooo I was searching to find out when it was legal for the Wal-mart in my area to be open when I came across this site.

A Resolution That Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. Disprove the Modern Myth That Sunday Work Maximizes Profits

Does anyone consider the idea of sunday work to maximize profit a myth? I see lots of people shopping on sundays.

And what's with all the "Whereas" in the page. Is that some sort of standard format for resolutions that I've never heard about?

I've seen that before, in the resolution passed by Idaho recognizing the creators of Napoleon Dynamite for their accomplishment. It was pretty funny. I figured it's typical.

"Whereas" is typical political legalese. You see it in legislation/resolutions all the time.

Walmart's rebuttal really closes the book on this absurd nonsense. He makes a LOT of claims, but fails to support any of them. And the religious nonsense is just that.

That commandment condones slavery so I don't think too many reasonable people took it seriously in the first place.

I do a lot of my shopping on the weekends, whether it be Saturday or Sunday. Depends how the week went, if the week was rough, I relax on Saturday and shop on Sunday. If the week was not rough, I shop on Saturday and relax on Sunday.
