Firstly, can I change my name from Hender to AGSHender? I would really appreciate that. Thanks.

Secondly, I have a question about forum moderators. How do they do their job, anyhow? Do they read every post of every thread and monitor for violations of forum rules, or do people PM moderators about troublemakers, trolls, and jerks? It seems that most moderators are pretty proactive about heading off the riff-raff, but it just suddenly occured to me that I didn't really know and I've been browsing these forums for years. Thanks!
 
Not wishing to answer for the Mods, or the staff here, but from what I can gather, it is a combination of both.

They read the forums looking for things that are awry, as well as responding to PMs.

I have often found that the quickest way to get a response to a question, query, sticky/lock requests or to note trolls and troublemakers is to PM Anandtech Moderator.


The Moderators here are unpaid, and I continue to thank them for all the hard work and effort they put into making this place as good as it is 😀
