Right, I bet the muslim extremists are thinking the same thing...

Lets invade their country, kill their leaders and convert them to Islam...

I honestly beileve that the world would be a much better place without religion, at least organized religion...

ive brought this up before to some of the more...agnsty folks here when it comes to religion. i think its over-simplification to say "look at all the bad stuff done in the name of God(s), etc."
its a lot easier to quantify the negative by body count/oppression than it is to somehow quantify the goals (non-tangible) that religion has helped humanity achieve.

about the article: this quote is used a lot against the woman. but her fans tend to laud the "comedy" of coulter and the amount of anxiety she seemingly instills in her critics. she annoys me in her stubborn "im never wrong" attitude and the flippant way she writes off valid arguments as "liberal ravings" and "crying." she is unreasonable.

People use the royal "we" a lot when it's something they don't personally want to do. I don't think Ann Coulter would have had quite the impact with "The young sons and daughters of America's poor and middle class should die invading their countries, killing their leaders, and converting them to Christianity."

What "goals" has religion help us achive?

I don't see how it's that much of a benifit, it's often abused and misused.

No, not really. I just have a problem when people tell me they know what happens to me when I die.

Being athiest, apparently I am going to a place called "hell" when I die.

the point is we dont really know the full scope of what religion has helped.
the church was and still is an extremely powerful and influencial force in culture.

Yes, well when I see good things (now or in history), I'll give them a thumbs up. When I see things like torturing scientists into recanting, I'll give them a thumbs down. Why bother counting...the game isn't over yet :)

So, basically all your saying is... You don't know if it's a good or bad thing, you just know that it has shaped our culture and thats it..

 I am sure if you look at the past 1000 years or so you can get a pretty decent picture of how religion has shaped human culture.

Possibly the Daily Show or any of Bill Mahr's segments...

And I thought the goal was to destroy the area around Iraq, The less we know of history, the better. I guess that isn't against this goal, though.
