a quickie about hard drives

I don't know if this is a stupid question, but is there anyway to hook-up more than 2 hard drives to my mobo. It only has 2 places for ide cables and i have 3 hard drives.

any suggestions?

Two drives per channel and two channels gives four drives.

lol..oh yeah i forgot that i have a dvd and burner on one of the ide cables.
so only one is really free

you can hook the 3rd drive to the secondary IDE controller slot....
....it will only be able to run as fast a transfer rate as any other drive that is on the cable with it. So if you put a fast drive on the same cable as a CD or CDRW drive the hard drive will only be able to transfer data at the ata33 spec of the CD/CDRW.

OK for a slow storage drive


Or just get a Promise controller card
