Real, as in really bad. http://www.fudzilla.com/home/item/26179-kepler-256-bit-faster-in-dx11-games-than-7970

Ignore the article and read the comments below it. It might be the saddest, yet funniest thing you'll read all month. My two personal favorites are
Clean j!zz from you mongoloid's eyes
and
Nvidia WILL suck as always. Sucks your all power, money, ears, nerves. Everything.

Have a good laugh and then take a deep breath and realize GPUs do not matter all that much to our lives.

Forums to me are fun and "informative." The informative part is of course - that you sort of know a tad about what the subject is or get prepared to get taken on a while ride.

Here is an example of what I mean:
Guy1 wants to get the Steam overlay to work on his Origin game (most likely a simple software fix.)
Guy2 tells Guy1 to buy a ~$200+ LED monitor, set it up on the side of his desk/couch , and drag Steam over there.

Haha. I didn't want to get involved in the conversation since, I'm the resident AMD/ATI fanboy on that forum and, well, me and Guy2 don't really get along when it comes to opinions on hardware. "Buy a i7 2600k, it be night and day difference versus your AMD X6 1100T. DO IT! Oh yeah, and get a MARS II for your 1080p monitor, it would the best!"

Ah forums...great way to pass time on a slow day, and thankfully still very informative if you ignore the factual-opinions. :)

There's only a few of them, an ignore button would do wonders ... that said I think Fud keep it that way - more page hits I expect.

I think greater the possibility a rumor might have a grain of truth in it the more exaggerated and ridiculous their hyperbole becomes.

That was painful to read, it boggles my mind how people who spend their times on tech forums end up with worse conversation skills than a drunken sailor. From the 17th century. A dutch drunken sailor from the 17th century.

But when you release stuff like "kepler is going to be much smaller then tahiti but faster" on a forum crammed with neanderthals it's like ... what do you expect?

LOL i hate fanboys,i was in a BF3 caspain Border map yesterday and talk of the 7970 came up and i mentioned i had one and i was on the server benching it.

Then someone asked me my settings and fps and i mentioned my 7970 gets around 54-96 fps with everything maxed and enabled but msaa at 2x and this guy is like take it back, sli two gtx560 ti 1gb cards.

I asked why performance is perfectly fine and he is like oh cause your still dipping under 60fps and to me that's still choppy and i respond on his version of choppiness is different from mine.

Who the hell tells you to take back a 7970 and sli 2 1gb gtx560 ti cards cause your card refuses to stay above 60fps,even in deep smoke and tank fights?

What an idiot. Unless you already had an 560 SLI setup, there is no point in having them. That guy should know, 1 GB on 1080p with all the eye candy on doesn't work. I guess peoples views on choppiness is different, I don't mind frames at 40+, but you will find people that need minimum of 100+ frames to say the game is smooth.

Even if i did sli my old 2gb gtx560,i doubt it could really hold up to my oced 7970 at 1100/1575,maybe at complete factory stock it would have a advantage but that guy just blew me away with that suggestion and yup,he had a gtx560ti.

Reason for that story was a hint at how freaking fanboys can try and sell you such bs cause i spent days thinking if a 7970 would be worth while or if i thought twice the heat, noise and the chance of microstutter was worth possibly better then 7970 performance.
