A quick question for anyone who owns an epox 8kha+

Hey,

I'm definitely getting the 8kha+, but since i'm a poor student, i'll be waiting until the next paycheque after that to get a new processor (one of the xp's).

So anywho my question is will I be able to use my old processor, a Duron 750, on that motherboard in the meantime? Both are socket A, so there shouldn't be a problem right?

Wait but now something just occurred to me, and that is that the 8kha+ only uses ddr ram. Anyone know if my duron 750 will be compatible with ddr? I don't see why not...

Yes everything Will be Compatible!

If you ever have any questions about your Epox 8KHA+ email me or PM me.

Ps. I love my Board~

A couple of things to be aware of with the 8KHA+. It's a power hog, and very fussy about the quality of the psu you use. Go here to see AMD's list of approved psu's, and don't go with one that just meets the minimum specs, go at least a 340W. There have been some problems with the ram, or rather the pressure needed to seat it. The DDR ram seems to take a lot more pressure to seat it than Sdram does. Best way is to lay the mobo on a flat surface (with thin foam or even cardboard underneath it) and carefully seat the ram. There should be a definite "CLICK" as it snaps into place, and look at it, make sure that the keepers are in place against the ends and that it's down all the way--contacts should be barely visible. Then assemble and enjoy, I've been running it for 2 months now and love it 😀
