A quick Q about TV's

I am looking to get a new TV, DLP, LCD, Plasma...they're all fair game...
looking for around 40" or so...wondering what kind of resolution's you can get on these TVs.
I have an HTPC hooked up to my current 27" tube TV, and max I can get is 1024x768, but that cuts off the edges.
moneywise: anywhere around 2K, but price can vary if I find what I want...gonna get a nice fat bonus sept 1, so it needs to be spent by then 🙂

There are 1080P sets on the market now with street prices under $2K.

That's 1920x1080 native resolution.

Example

Available elsewhere for around $1900.

Is resolution a big requirement? If so, LCD may be your best bet. Do you need to save space (wall mount)?

I have plenty of room in my living room...so space is not an issue at all, I was just wondering about the resolutions, for my computer...the higher the better, as stated, I'm tired of my TV cutting off my comp background

Like Viper GTS said, 1080p. There is a crop of 1080p DLP TVs coming out from Mitsubishi and Samsung if you want something larger than the Westinghouse LCD TV.
