I think I caught a Trojan horse. Norton caught it but was unable to repair and deleting the file was denied. I can't find the file anywhere on the hdd. Did a full scan but nothing came up.

Would disable save settings during shutdown for win2k prevent the existing registry from saving?? What else can I do to make sure there're not trojan on my pc?

I've completely deleted the temp folder. The file was not to be seen in the temp folder. From what I gather, it might have been activated itself and stick itself to the registry. Maybe not.

I tried going through all my services currently running but there's nothing suspicious.

Did use adaware with the latest sig files but nothing came up. Norton is on auto protect, how do we schedule it to scan during boot phase???
