a quick MOBO + Processor compatibility question

First of all, thanks for taking your time to help me with my problem. Here are the questions:

1. What is AMD Sempron, and how does it stack up to an Athlon?

2. Is the Asustek Mobo shown here good?

3. Does the Mobo shown up there ^^^ work with an AMD Sempron 2600+ ?

Thanks for your time in advance.

Sempron is like the Intel Celeron, it's their lower end CPU. Usually it has less cache than the other, more expensive CPU's. There are 99 reviews on Newegg about that board. You should be able to get some info from all those reviews.

The Socket A Semprons are rebadged Thoroughbreds. The one (3100+) on Socket 754 is Newcastle (I think) with half the cache, NX, and 64-bit taken out.
The A7N8X is a good board; the Shuttle AN35N-Ultra seems to have mostly identical features at a lower price, though. I use it, and it is a very good board as well.
