a quick math question...

How else could you express the product of x(sub i)^a for x=1,2,3...n and where a is a constant? For example, you could express the product of a^x(sub i) as a^sum of x(sub i).

I'm trying to find a maximum likelihood estimator for some probability distribution.

Well, I'll be damned. The sum of the log of x(sub i) = the log of the product of x(sub i). I did not know that. 😱
