A question on Firewire/USB2.0 solution!

I am wondering if there is a cable or adapter from USB2.0 to Firewire or vice versa?

I only have USB ports on my laptop, and i have USB2.0 peripherials, but i may get a firewire peripherial, so i want to get USB2.0 PCMCIA card but hoping i can use firewire hardware in future.

Or vice versa.

And info appreciated. 🙂

No - they do not relate to one another. Firewire is a SCSI III derivative - USB 2 is a USB derivative. What I have is a combo PCI card - USB 2 and Firewire. Have hubs for both and it all plays nicely.

I don't know of any PCMCIA solution and I think that would be your only option.

What are you trying to do/connect?

I have USB 2.0 hardware now, but i want to buy firewire hardware soon but how do i use both devices? I donot want to buy both USB 2.0 & firewire PCMCIA cards! no money! 🙁

No money is a problem we can't help you with - but what you need is a combo Firewire/USB 2 PCI card. You can maybe sell your USB 2 card and replace it when you do a few odd jobs and make some money. The combo card can be had for about $99 or less. The laptop PCMCIA Firewire card can be had for about $85.
