I am in the process of building a new PC and I was wondering if Mushkin
will be testing VIA's second version of the 266 chipset, the VAI KT266A?
Specifically on the MSI K7T 266 PRO2 mainboard.

Hello Eric,
We have not yet tested on that board or chipset. According to all of the specs I've seen though it should be pretty much the same as the KT266 and compatibility will be the same as well. With the VIA KT266 we have had very good success with compatibility. The only suggestion I would make is that a lot of the boards using the KT266 chipset must have Registered ECC DIMMs installed if you want to fill all three sockets and I would venture to guess that the KT266a will be similar in that regard. We should be testing on it soon though and will add it to our DDR Mainboard qualification page as soon as we do.
Thanks,
Lewis
Most excellent service I must say!
Edit: I guess this is for the people out there who did not know of the memory requirement...like me!
