I was wondering if it would be alright to sell the items that we probably would not use to gain cash to buy items that we will use or are in need of. I have second thoughts so I thought I would ask you knowlaged people. of course all money collected would be for ROCK and ROCK ONLY.

please help me with this moral delemia.

thanks.

Even though I have not been a ROCK contributor, I have worked with several similar projects/ministries.

All have sold and traded donated items to gain the items that we need. For some reason, you will get some items that you will never need, and not enough of other things. For instance one of the recycling projects needs a modem on every machine. I never use modems at the school, but need network cards, so we swap. The other day, he was low on raw CPUs. I had plenty, but needed some plug and play monitors. Another trade born.

We both need CDRom drives. They cost money. Once I needed $$$ to buy the furniture for the new lab. I was able to quickly sell 2 complete 266 mhz CPUs to buy that furniture at a bargain when we had a big surplus of machines and a big cash shortage. The logic was that God would supply more machines when we needed them, and better ones to boot!

I hope that this helps solve your moral dilemma. There is nothing wrong with what you propose.

Narzy,

I still need to ship you a box of older computer equipment I have laying around. I would have no problem with you selling it for cash to buy what you need. I am just to lazy to sell it off for the few dollars. So, I will send you what I have, and please do whatever you need to do with no questions asked. A gift is a gift...

Narzy, as a ROCK contributor - I'm fine with anything that helps the cause.
You should be commended for thinking of the ethics and bringing it public.

Unfortunate you aren't a bit older, and further southeast -- I'd suggest you run for AG.
Your scruples are rare indeed. ;)

<< I'm willing to move and lie >>

hmmm... you may just be a viable candidate. Can you ignore the constitution too? ;)

Dan -- I know the meaning of scruples, but given that it's not often said by drunken college students (ie, all those around me), the word just sounds dirty, almost like an STD or somethign :Q.

Narzy -- I personally don't think there's anything wrong with that, so long as you do what you did -- ask everyone first).

I've contributed a bunch of stuff to the ROCK project too.. I have absolutely no problem with you selling(or trading) it to get the stuff the project needs for the same reasons others have given.

I am rather proud to see you asking the question though - that shows maturity. ;)

I think you should do it, as long as it is for the benefit of the ROCK.

BTW, I did a mini this myself, I sold a fair amount of old cpu/mobo stuff, plus a lot of stuff of my own to buy a whole new duron system for the sake of cracking , not only did I move out a bunch of junk, but I also lowered my electricity costs, and got a huge jump in then keyrate, now DPs.

Go for it
