Do you enjoy it when I call with service problems on my cable modem, only to find out that I don't have it plugged into my computer?
"So..... where on the printer do I plug it in?"
"Uh, no, not on the printer, you want to plug it into the computer."
"The internet already doesn't work on the computer... I don't want to mess it up anymore."
"That cable has the internet on it. You need to plug it into the computer."
"I don't think it's working. I can't see any internet coming out of it."
"What?"
"How do I plug it in? I can't get the little spike in the middle into any of the holes. And there's no threads for the screw part."
"Do you have the cable line?"
"Yeah, that's where the internet is... right?"
"No you need to plug the ethernet cable into your computer."
"This IS the internet cable!"
"No the ETHERNET cable sir."
"Oh. Ok. I'm gonna have to unplug my mouse."
"No... there should be a hole that looks like the ethernet plug."
"There is, but there's already one in it."
"Where does that lead?"
"To the cable modem, duh."
"So... it's still not connecting to the internet?"
"Nope. But that internet cable you were talking about still isn't plugged in anywhere."
"You mean the cable line? You need to plug that into the cable modem."
"Ok, give me a minute to unplug my keyboard."
"Your keyboard isn't connected to your cable modem."
"Oh. Ok, got it."
"Does it work now?"
"Oh I mean to tell you, I can't get the computer to turn on at all. That's why I had everything unplugged to start with."
"You'll need to talk to your computer manufacturer about that. Is there anything else I can help you with tonight?"
"Yeah... My mouse is still unplugged."
