Currently, I am using the Dell 2005FPW revision A0 monitor and just recently I've heard issues such as color banding. It looks like my monitor is suffering serious case of color banding and I would like to exchange it for a newer revision model... What is the latest revision model that has no problem with color banding?

And is it possible to exchange 2005FPW for 2007FPW?

Thanks.

Im on my 2nd replacement making my 3rd monitor due tuseday. The woman at Dell said she would just order me a new one from the production line didn't say about returning this one though, not sure if it will be a 2007 or 2005 I'll reply and let you know when it arrives.

Quote form a post I made on another forum:

I am now getting my 3rd one of these after a new one going back after 5 months and this one going back after around 2 months.

The first time it was a hell hole to get Dell to help me out they kept sending me backward and forwards all the time so i spoke to the e-tailer who called their wholesaler, who then called me and dell and got dell to call me.

Anyway today I made my 2nd call to dell and after 40minutes I finally got a replacement out of them.. a new one is coming monday/tuseday.

Now the monitor i have now (2nd) was issued by the manager and I was very annoyed.. he assured me it would have no problems.. it arrived as a refurbished model from November 2004 (the one sent back was november 2005) and this one is even worce and its getting replaced.

Next time (if - i bet there will be - there is one) I will want a refund from Dell themselves all to talk to the manager I have spent almost £20 in phone calls to get this sorted.

Before you exchange your current monitor, you might consider using the VGA cable/input. A relative has a 2007FP with color banding and since the monitor was otherwise good, he decided to try the VGA input instead of DVI. The colors are now rendered perfectly smooth on test patterns. The picture looks excellent using VGA input and that is the objective.

UPDATE

Well I got a new one today and they did take the old one.

Model is 2005FPW but made April 2006 and revision A03 I have never had an A03 and i can't see any backlight leakage with this one so far, but haven't looked into it much yet.
