A question for anyone with a Microsoft Intelli Mouse Explorer...........

Hello,

I found a nice deal on this mouse, but it's an OEM so it doesn't come with the driver CD. This in itself is no big problem; I can just download the latest drivers before I install it. It could be a problem, though, if there was no way to program the mouse buttons to perform different functions without the CD. So, is the driver CD that comes with the retail version the only place where you can get the program that lets you program the mouse? Or is that function inherent in the drivers themselves (thus solving my problem, as I could simply use the ones I download)?

Thanks in advance,

yup, download the drivers and the driver and software for your mouse installs to customise your mouse.

how much are u saving btw? i bought mine back when they had a $10 rebate so i got mine for $40.

as far as the drivers go, just listen to what the other 2 guys above said. they are in the "know";).

but, u might wanna think about this:
some people have mentioned that their mouse died on them and they had to use the warranty on the mouse to get it RMAed. is there a warranty for that mouse?

i have the wheel button for a "back" and the small button to "close" windows, while the big thumb button is for "minimizing" everything.

I'm gettin' it a Newegg. They have 'em for $37.00 with free shipping. And from what I've heard, they have a pretty good RMA service.

Got mine from Newegg for that same price and free shipping. They are good and I recommend them..the drivers have all of the button managing you can do to this thing..its wild. :) Only problem I have with it is I accidentally hit the side buttons too much.

My thumb buttons are set to forward/back in IE.
