Ok, my friend has a IBM 60gxp 40gb hdd. He gets a wierd message at startup. right after the computer does the ram count and id's the CPU, it detects and list the IDE devices. Well, when his list the hdd, it gives the serial number first, then a space, and then says ERR(or one 'R', I am not sure) and a bunch of numbers after that. Is that normal? thats what I was getting when I had a 60gxp and I had the problem of a bunch of restarts. Has anyone else run into this? Can someone tell me what there HDD days at startup? thanks

The 60GXP's have a weird model number compared to any other drive I have seen. I haven't looked closely at mine, but it's a long string of numbers and letters if I recal correctly. I wouldn't be surprised if the letters "err" where in there somewhere.
