Are you supposed to put grass seeds on in the fall or in the spring? (The land is dirt right now no grass at all)

Spring...if you do it now, between the birds, the rodents, and the freeze of new growth, it cannot stand a chance of surviving. On bare ground, put a layer of hay or straw on it to prevent erosion until spring.

It depends on where you live. If you get frost during the winter (which would kill your grass sprouts), I would seed in the spring. If it stays pretty warm (like Miami or something), then go ahead and seed. I guess there aren't the many "landscapers" here @ AT, but I consider myself one :)

Yeah I get a bit of frost during the winter. About 4 feet of frost :p

The land is flat, so I don't really need to bother about erosion. And theres just way to much to cover.

fall is a pretty good time, but its to late now, you are supposed to do it before the first frost..
