Hey All
With all of the nonsense about the new worms and virus's and Trojans and getting the latest patch from MS if one had a good-firewall and good-virus software program should one be concerned about an attacker actually getting into ones system if that person was using broadband (dsl) ?

TP........................................................:)

Well it is nearly impossible to keep all virus's out without some effort. A pop3 trap. a router helps but is not everything you need.
Some good e-mail rules if you use outlook express which sucks. Check for open ports, virus scanner that you update every day.

A good dose of common sense, using a better email client than Outlook Express, a virus checker with current defs, a decent firewall (ideally hardware based) and an up-to-date Windows install with all critical patches should stop 95% of problems.
