A question about the GIGABYTE GA-P55A-UD7

Hi guys, I am looking to invest in a new build now and I was wondering about your thoughts about the GIGABYTE GA-P55A-UD7 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128434) or any equivalents. I was looking to buy something that would be a good buy in the long run and would still be "decent" after 4-5 years. The GIGABYTE GA-P55A-UD7 has USB 3.0 and SATA 3 which i hope is worth investing in. The last time I spent money on a pc was dropping almost a grand on q6600s core 2 quads and 8800GTs back when it came out and its still great to this day. Any suggestions would be helpful as I've been out of the market for a while now and coming back there seems to be so much literature. Thanks!

well since that motherboard only has 2 sata 3.0 and 2 usb 3.0 id say wait it out a little bit, but thats what i always do, i dont buy any new technology till after it drops in price a little especially if what you have works good for you now (i still run q9x and q6600's ) have not jumped on the bandwagon for 250$ ram and motherboards yet but i dont encode all day or have a tri sli setup either. Cpu price isnt bad but the motherboards seem bit overpriced

I really don't know what the UD7 offers over other P55A boards from Gigabyte, but if its only USB3.0 and Sata3 you are interested in, you can get that on any model that starts with P55A.

For what its worth, I am very, very satisfied with my P55A-UD4P... I have not used USB3/Sata3 yet, but the board is rock solid and has been flawless since day 1.

I'm sure the UD7 would be great too (just not sure about the value there)

I agree with CraigRT about not being sure about the value. It should be a great board but i doubt it will suit your needs perfectly. I mean 4 PCI-E graphic slots? Tons of copper and water cooling block? Will you need it?

Your brand choice is good but I recommend you take the P55A-UD4P or P55A-UD3R for better value.
