A question about T-Bird Type-C procs

This might be a silly question, and forgive me if it had been discussed before, but what exactly are the differences between the "old" T-birds vs. the new Type Cs?

I know that the Type C is set to run at an 266 FSB, but so could an unlocked "old" T-bird. So, I guess what I am exactly wondering is if it is worth it to buy a Type C or just unlock the old ones.
