A friend told me the language was not Russian, but Ukrainian. I don't know how much of a difference there is, but I was nonetheless dying to know the following:

What is the deep voice saying in the ending sequence as you are approaching the monolith? Every now and then I can hear it say Strelok, but naturally that doesn't do much for me.

Does anyone know this?

There are quite a few differences between Russian and Ukrainian. Although there are some similarities, and your typical Russian will understand about 20-40% of what someone will be saying to him in Ukrainian, they are not the same at all! The language in STALKER is 100% RUSSIAN. There is no Ukrainian there at all. So your friend is wrong.

As for your question, the voice says things like : "COME TO ME!!!" "GO TO ME!!!" "YOU WILL GET WHAT YOU WANT!!" "YOUR JOURNEY IS COMING TO AN END, STALKER!!" I beat Stalker SOH quite a while ago, so my memory is a bit rusty, but I'm pretty sure that I got most of what the monolith is saying.

The monolith is calling to you... It's drawing you in with promises of you finally getting what you want, and your wishes coming true.
