A question about publishing web content...

Hi all,

I have a web hosting plan that I use for mail hosting only right now. I would, however, like to be able to post up a couple of pics whenever I have items for sale...

So, for example, I took a couple of pics of a Radeon 9600 Pro I have for sale, and I would like to create a page of thumbnails (that turn full-size once clicked on) and then post that stuff. I would like it to be accessible as, say www.berjan.net/ATI Radeon 9600Pro FS/Pics.html (www.berjan.net is my domain). All I want to appear on this page is the thumbnails with a description, perhaps...
I have SmartFTP installed on my computer and am able to log in using my user name and password. When I browse to var/www/html, I see the page that's currently displayed at www.berjan.net. I was able to download it to my computer without problems.

So, there is the situation - now a few things I need help with:
1. What program can I use to create a web page with thumbnails with descriptions that link to larger pics?
2. How do I create this new directory (www.berjan.net/ATI Radeon 9600Pro FS/Pics.html) and will it still be located within var/www/html or does it belong elsewhere?

That's all the questions I have right now... I hope that I described everything sufficiently well...

You could use almost any photo album software, but that might be overkill. There was a thread here a day or two ago about the various ways to put photos on the web (I use freeware Jalbum which will do what you want). Alternatively, just create a simple webpage using the thumbnails for the anchors and linking them to your full-size image. If you don't know how to write a web page, lots of places to find tutorials.

If you don't want to do it by hand, I've seen people on the boards recommend a program called Express Thumbnail Creator. It basically takes your photos, creates thumbnails, created the html and navigation, and all you have to do is upload everything.
