A question about PAL dvd's

I want to buy Alligator 1 and 2 for a friend. (an old cheesy 80's movie) for a joke. The problem is that it is a PAL dvd. Is It possible to rip it and convert it and burn it in NTSC format so US dvd players will play it?

yes but its a pain in the ass to do... i would just shell out the money for a cheapie dvd player that can play PALs

Double check though, that any DVD player that plays PAL/NTSC either outputs only NTSC or has selectable output. I had a Philips player that could play both....but the output was in the original format only.

Newer DVD players seem to be better at this...but just check and make sure first....if you do have to get a new DVD player, you may as well make it region/code-free as well.

Are those the movies with the Alligator in the sewer?

Look up the dvd player you intend to play it on and see if it is multisystem and plays NTSC and PAL...

Also make sure region is correct or you'll just get stuck with a region code error.

Oh and converting from PAL to NTSC is a HUGE pain... I know from experience.
