Hello,
I have a new PC build that I'm satisfied with, and the very last thing I have to buy for it is the OS. I'm not very knowledgeable about OEMs, but I see that they are relatively cheaper than a Full version of a Windows product. Now, I noticed that several places like Amazon and NewEgg states that you can upgrade to Windows 10 from Windows 7 OEM (which is what I plan to buy). But then I read somewhere else that once you purchase an OEM OS, you're stuck with it forever (I can't even confirm that to be true considering I don't know anything about OEMs).
So my question is, can I truly upgrade an OEM into another full version of Windows like the free Win 10 upgrade? I just don't want to pay full price for an operating system I already have on my current computer just to upgrade it to a free one... and I don't even know if I can copy my Win 7 on my eMachines to the new upcoming PC considering the OS was already pre-installed when I bought it.
