A question about guild wars : night fall

i am thinking of buying guild wars night fall. anyone know how long these guild wars games take to complete. i mean i really don't wanna have it be completed in 10-20 hours. i would prefer a game i could play for a year or 2 without worrying about it ending.

well lets see, i've been playing the original prophecies since july and i know im not close to being done even though im lvl 20. still have to get the elite skills and just finish the damn game. i think games like these are really never meant to end. they just keep you playing with the updates. i want to get nightfall but since i havent even finished prophecies yet, i dont want to get into something else right now. if you havent played any guild wars version yet, i suggest you get prophecies. it's better for new people and you get the original storyline but anyways good luck on your quest

if you need any help check out the AT guild wars forum for a list of people that would be willing to help.

are there still many ppl playing prophecies (btw thats the first one right ?)
i really want to play it for the MMO factor and if no ones playing it then it'll suck.

ok i''ve been reading some user reviews and i'd just like to ask does one need to spend even more money after buying one copy. i mean for buying stuff in game. is it necessary to buy those things to play properly. the main reason i like guild wars is cuz there are no monthly fees

i have not spent one cent more than just buying the standard game. there are TONS of people playing even the original prophecies. not much of a problem finding a group if you just ask. if you do get prophecies look me up

You don't have to buy anything more than a single copy of whatever campaign (Prophecies, Factions, Nightfall) that you want to play. If you buy more than one campaign, you obviously get more content and access to more skills, but the additional campaigns are not needed to play through the storyline of any single campaign.

Here's what I'd recommend: When a player purchases a new campaign, ArenaNet includes a key for a 10 hour trial (valid for 14 days) of the previous and current campaigns that they can give to other people. If you know someone that recently bought Nightfall, see if they've used their "Guild Wars Epic Trial" or "Nightfall Buddy" keys. If not, see if they'll give them to you and give it a try yourself. I'd offer to give you the keys I got when I bought Nightfall, but I already gave them to a friend and he's using them. If you don't know anyone that has the trial keys, I'd say pick up a copy of either Prophecies or Nightfall as I didn't think that Factions was as well done as the other two.
