So I have a bunch of files from my old hard drive and I would like to copy them to my new system. Would it be possible after installing windows etc on the new one, to load the old HDD up as a slave drive to copy files off of? It will still have Windows installed so I dont know if it will work or not. Thanks! :)

Yeah, it'll work. Just be sure they're both alike file systems(NTFS or FAT).

Yeah, XP will read them ok. Don't worry.
I have two FAT32 HDs with old Windows 98 installations on them. I boot off a NTFS SATA drive w/ XP installed.
