It seems to me that the constituents of both parties are disillusioned with their representatives. Republicans are leaving their party for things such as scandals and abusive overspending. I and others, as a traditionally Democratic voters, are sick of the party going soft on things such as illegal immigration.

As a self-proclaimed socialist, I refuse to vote for republicans as I am disgusted at the right?s views on Christian-backed social ?reforms? (i.e. bigotry) and their stance on financial programs and taxation. As a result I am forced to vote either Democrat or independent. And, as we are all aware, a vote for an independent is, in most cases, a waste. Alas, I will vote for a party that is moving away from its core beliefs?turning right on certain social issues and pandering to the Latino vote.

What are we to do?

Why don't you vote for the person who you agree with, without regard to the party...

I can't. It comes down to me agreeing with Democrats the most. If they would turn left again, and stop supporting amnesty I would be happy.

Well... do you want to pay to deport 12 million people?

But as to your original point, I totally agree. However, voting for any party besides the Democrats or Republicans is [currently] pointless since no other party even has a remote chance of getting elected. Of course if your viewpoints are significantly different from both Democrats and Republicans then there may be some merit with rallying behind a third party...

As a socialist why would you even consider living in the United States? We're a Constitutional Republic. Try China. That's much closer to your communist ideology.

Socialism is rule by beaurocrats. A form of dictatorship. Often considered to actually be communism, minus the gun held to our head or tanks running over students, as everyone in China understands.
