HIGHER speed limit for good clear days, but higher penalty for speeding in dangerous conditions(to the patrolman's POV) and construction areas...

I'm sure its been discussed before, but have at it.

I hate feeling restricted going 55 on the right lane when everyone else is going 75, or when I do speed to keep up with traffic, that I might get a ticket with no valid excuse(keeping up with traffic instead of being passed by EVERY SINGLE OTHER PERSON on the highway is safer than sticking with the speed limit, but Nooo, not valid reason)

That being said, I haven't had a speeding ticket in years(70 in a 55 where most people are going 75... cargo trucks were still passing me when the cop pulled me over)

define "good clear days" and "dangerous conditions" in court terms...

It will be a nightmare for judges and treasure for lawyers

It won't accomplish anything. You still have people that don't feel comfortable driving over XX speed plugging up things. Just as you do now.

And you are still going to have people doing XX over the speed limit. Just as you do now.

Who are you to judge the conditions, and how are you to prove the conditions if you should decide to fight the ticket? Having multiple speed limits just seems redundant and hard to manage...

A couple states already have night/day speed limits. I wonder what those did to lower death/accident rates and if they are even enforced.

it's the no skill, a$$hole drivers plugging up the left lanes that's the issue. when you got a land-barge or a tercel riding the speed limits forcing people to pass right, that is a major issue. and that is where troopers should be issuing tickets.

don't say speed kills - when montana implemented no limits outside of urban areas, deaths decreased!.

if troopers gave tickets to stupid drivers instead of speeders, they'd have no problems meeting quota and getting these drivers to learn to stay right.

that type of versatile legislation would be a dream come true for me. I'd pay off school within a few months. :D
