That is a sweet car. Totally impractical but hey the engine sits directly behind you. I saw 3 in a car park on the weekend, obviously some sort of meet or something, because I had never even seen one on the road before that.

The nissan is front engine.

I dont know what pepboys is. As for what will be done to them, the lists are as follows.

MR2 (3S-GTE)

Aftermarket boost guage
Fuel cut off mod - http://toymr2.tripod.com/fcd.html
Ball and spring Manual boost controller
NGK 6097 Coppers
Cold or Short ram intake
2.5inch downpipe and 2.5 inch exhaust with high flow cat
aftermarket side mounted intercooler
MSD 8950 with appropriate RPM module
Fuel Pressure regulator
Fuel pressure guage
S-AFC
AFR turing on Dyno
Modified CT-26

No body work to it.

Nissan (SR20DET)

boost controller
boost guage
fuel pressure guage
300zx maf
550cc injectors
s15 turbo
front mount intercooler
3" downpipe and exhaust
top mounted air intake
AFR turing on Dyno

No body work done to it.

Both would be about 275 WHP reliably and I would be leave the body stock. (Sleeper?)

About $6k in mods on the MR2 (with stock intercooler, no water injection, street tires):

11.9 at 122mph

They're quick little cars.

your in Canada,

Get a GM, and help support the Canada, and American economies.

Plus you can get parts in town..... :)

How about an Impala SS, or a Firebird?

Or a Suburban 4x4, so when it snows you can still drive it? ;)

Wait, so the OP is looking for a dragster?

Because if so, that certainly opens up the possibilities

Actually, that was done without drag specific parts (ie drag focused suspension), with a full interior, and middle of the road tires. The car still handled as a mid-engined rear-drive vehicle should. The car retained its low polar moment, quick initial turn-in, and speed of directional change. A drag focused car would have been even faster, but you'd lose much of the charm of a MR2, IMHO.

oh just stop it.

Just say 'she handles like she's on rails with a perfect balance and an easy to control slight (and fun) oversteer.'

;)

I don't know about the easy-to-control part. Pre-93 suspension does tend to cause a bit of pucker when hitting a bump mid-corner. :D
