Please take the Touch Pro 2, throw in Tegra 2 guts and maybe spiff up the camera a bit (1080P video would be amazing but I'd be happy with 720). Then you finally might be able to get me off my old 6800. Thank you and goodnight.

Really though, this looks like the most impressive chip to roll out of nVidia since the geforce 8 launch.

You honestly expect a phone to record in 1080p? Sure maybe in the future, but that really isn't something they can just throw in after the fact. Phones just now started doing 720p.

I do agree that Tegra 2 looks awesome, but I don't think we will see any good phones with it until 2011.

I said 1080P would be amazing, not expected. The hardware is certainly there for it encoding wise with Tegra 2 but the sensor and storage won't be cost effective for awhile.

And the one 720p phone the Omnia HD fails to record at a sustained 24fps. It's gonna take some time before we see 720p phones across the board. The phones marketed in the US are a little behind in both camera and video specs. We're gonna get there though... one day.

i thought the omnia 2 had 720p video as well? i was messing with one yesterday, the playback was pretty smooth to me. i could have sworn i had it on the 700 res when i was messing with it.

Oh sorry, I thought you meant record in 720p. Not many phones do that. Playback... yeah. Decent # of phones should work with 720p playback. Especially with the new Cortex A8 processors. I would think the Omnia 2 will suffer ab it because it's ARM11? Then again Samsung was wise and put in a graphics accelerator. HTC's phones don't do this, and it's interesting if the Nexus One doesnt have one.
