Err, yes, and? I guess per-core performance would've been a better way to put it, but it changes nothing. The FX-4100 is a crappy CPU no matter how you slice it.

And if you're that worried about the i3 not overclocking, get a Phenom II X4 925 and a cheap cooler and you'll have better performance.

@ OP The PII 960, it is overall the better cpu for the money, all this other jibberish isnjust fanboy fluff. There ais plenty of data on the web for the FX CPU to help you decide.

As I said a while ago, Core i3s do not support Turbo. That means that they cannot overclock since in Sandy Bridge Turbo is what enables raising multipliers from default. So no, there will never be a multiplier-overclockable i3.

And since some people will come here to argue that disabling Turbo Boost in the motherboard still allows you to overclock, disabling Turbo Boost doesn't disable Turbo functionality since it's embedded into the CPU itself.
