A PCI Card question

Could this be actually true? Got this email from a customer wanting to buy a PCI card from us.

My mother ordered a monitor from mirage some place on ubid and when she brought it home it would not work with the card they sent. I took the monitor to a computor store, they said it needed a pci card I the emailed the mirage company and they said my mother needed a 16mb illusionist card for it to work with a hp . My mothers hp is a XP CELERON .And the monitor is the kind I mentioned before. It would not work with her pc. Any help you give me would be helpful. She gave me the monitor so now I;m trying to find a card that will work with a hp celeron me for my husband.

I've never heard of a monitor asking for a Illusionist card since most PCI cards do the same damn thing. Of course the monitor in question is a Sun GDM1962B and I didn't find anything on it that would suggest it needed anything quirky.

So anyone got any extra info on Illusionist cards other than that they are just some really expensive PCI cards.

This might be part of the reason

This is a proprietary standard connector. SGI, SUN etc, have their own cable layout. This connector has 3 larg coaxial pins and 10 small pins.

If the monitor needs a certain type of connection, you need a card that will have the correct pin output, so it looks like you might need to do some research. That monitor site does seem like it might have something on it though.

Its not for me, I generally stay atleast a few miles away from Sun products. I have my own business and a customer sent me that email.

So from what it appears these guys need to get the 13W3 cable and an adapter going from 13W3 to HD15 in order for it to work with the PCI card I am selling them.
