A PC without a case. Will it work?

I'm thinking of building a computer under my desk. I can mount the motherboard, power supply, and drives directly to the underside of the desk. I can rip the two momentary switches off an old XT case I have so I can have the reset and power buttons.

What else would I need?

Will this work?

I'm sure someone has tried this before.

It will certainly work. Many of us that participate in Distributed Computing projects build "crack racks" that are nothing more than PC components on shelves. Stop by the DC forum if you have any questions. :)

Make sure you have good air flow, make sure nothing will short out, and make sure nothing will hit the components.

Here's some pics of other crack racks

To give you ideas. :D

Holy Schnikes! I had to pass that URL around the office. And I thought I was bad having three PCs at home.
