Well, thats what I'm running it at right now. After about a month and 1/2 with it at 1021MHz, the overclocking bug struck me again. Even though I had the 650 at already super high levels, I wanted to see if I could get more speed out of it. After collecting more data on the i815E chipset from other users on RAM placement and timings, I decided to go for it. I placed the 128MB of EMS HSDRAM into DIMM slot 1 and put all of my timings at 3-3-3. I also noticed a new BIOS for my MSI board, so I also flashed it. Then I took my HedgeHog heatsink off and sanded it as flat as it could possibly go and placed the right amount of heatsink grease on the CPU. I left the CPU at the same voltage of 1.85V. I don't want to go any higher than that.

I don't know which of the above listed actually allowed me to run faster, but now I'm at 1053MHz on a 162MHz bus with the RAM at 162MHz 3-3-3. Before, the system wouldn't last more than 30 minutes at this speed, but after 1 hour of Quake 3 demo looping, 1 and 1/2 hours of Counter-Strike, and about 1 hour of playing a game I just bought, Homeworld: Cataclysm, the system is still up and running. It's even crunching Prime95 as I type this.

I'm going to do some overnight torture testing to see if it is indeed stable at this speed. And if it is, you'll see my sig quote change. heh

if i were you i would run the ram slower at cas 2-2-2 and you will see better performance.

no way about that RAM statement, keep it up over 1GHz it's way cooler.. even tho you MAY get better numbers, depending on how far down u need to go b4 your RAM will run CAS2 well.

I've been doing some benchmarking and I found that 1021MHz with the RAM at 157MHz 3-2-2 performs the same as 1053MHz with the RAM at 162MHz 3-3-3. I think I'll keep it at 1021MHz. That way I don't have to worry about instability too.

Adam, do you have the MSI-6337 815E Pro mobo? Just curiosity, cuz I'm trying to o/c my P3 650 cBO also and seems like you have really good setup. Let me know please. Thanks.

Yep, thats the board I have. It's a very stable board and it's the first board I've had that can actually run AGP 4X, Fast Writes, and Sidebanding all at the same time without any problems at really high FSBs. My Asus P3V4X couldn't do that.
