A retired carpenter in his mid-50s was playing a slot machine at PhiladelphiaPark Casino on Monday when a gambler next to him leaned over and said, "Hey! It looks like you've won a bonus."

Stephen Wilkinson, of Feasterville, could hardly believe his eyes.

"My name came across the screen - 'Congratulations. You are the power player jackpot winner. You've won $102,000.' "

His joy was short-lived, however. Casino officials soon walked over and told him it was a mistake - a system malfunction.

They said he had no money coming.

"They offered me two comps for the buffet," Wilkinson said derisively yesterday.

I first saw this reported by CNN Headline News then I Googled it and found the news reported by Philly.com.
He told CNN that he's considering legal action and I bet he'll.
I certainly hope he'll the cash he thought he'd won.

Every slot machine I've ever seen has printed on it something to the effect of "malfunctions void all plays".

He should have never left, but called the gaming commission, and had the machine inspected immediately. Years ago, a casino in Reno tried to pull that on my wife. I called the gaming commission, and they ran the machine thru some stored history, as well as some tests, then ended up paying her. If she had walked, she'd have never seen a dime.

And, no, she won nothing near that big. It was $1500
