A newbie stupid question.....

i think there already are software for them. it's definitely not popular though. in the future there will be more

A lot of the adventure gaming companies have posted notices recently that they will be switching to dvd exclusively in the coming year.

i think dvd is just another way of storage, so technically it can be for anything right?

movies, data, music, anything a cd can.

If you have above 400MHz, you could you a software DVD decoding program like Power DVD.

I have a few non-video DVD titles:

Encarta 2001 Reference Suite
Baulders Gate II
X Files Game (NOT MY CHOICE - it came with my DVD player)

<< do you need a DVD decorder card to play DVD games smoothly? >>

No!.. Games on DVD discs are not 'DVD Games', they are regular games stored on a high capacity medium, IE DVD Discs. And you only need DVD decoder cards to decode and play the highly compressed MPEG2 movies on DVD discs.

Here's another question just out of interest. Has anybody tried playing a DVD movie over a 100base LAN? How's the result?
