I am buying a Athlon XP 1800+ OEM on a Soyo Dragon+ MoBo. I know I will need some ArcticSilver II. The Alpha 8045 doesn't fit on the MoBo so I am leaning towards a ThermalRight SK6 Heat Sink. Question is, what else do I need? I am a newbie and I am building my first comp...

80mm case fans?

Oh, and about cooling in general, those 80mm and 60mm fans can get pretty LOUD. If you want a quiet computer. Go with fans less than 5800rpm or noise ratings less than 32dB.

When you buy the SK6 it should list if it comes with a fan or not. If it doesnt you gotta buy one on your own. If does come with one, you might have the option to what fan you want.

I would NOT buy the Delta...........

Much to loud...

What you want is a 5000 rpm fan ...

This is what I have on my SK-6

Thermaltake TT-6025
31 CFM @ 28 dBA
4500 RPM, 3 Pin.

NOT

Delta AFB0612EH
37.6 CFM @ 46.5 dBA
6800 RPM, 3 Pin.

I made the mistake of getting a thermoengine V6 with a Delta fan installed. Those things are <loud>...
Mine reports a fan speed of 7500 RPM in the bios, as opposed to the stated 6800 - Does this mean it's running too fast?

I'm gonna get a quieter fan next time I order some stuff for my PC - I don't want to pay shipping for just a fan...
