Whenever I switch on my power supply (hooked up to my motherboard), my cpu fan spins slowly for 1 second then stops. Is this normal?

Asrock 939 dual sata 2.

Is the PSU up to the task? (Wattage, amps, etc...)

Are you using stand-offs to mount the mobo on in the case?

Have you tried powering up the mobo outside of the case?

All the power plugs plugged into the mobo?

Yes it is normal. this show that the motherboard is getting power and is ready to start. Lot of motherboard does that. others has a led that show when the motherboard is getting power.

Considering that the mobo isn't even actually 'on', i'd say yes. 😉

okay cool. Yeah, I'm used to the green led light, which was absent on this mobo.
