Well, I am farely new with computers. CD/DVD ROM is to just play CD's and DVD's..Right? So what is the beat CD/DVD rom speed? Since they aren't too much, I would like to get the best one from Newegg.

Now, the things that confuse me are the burners. Since I am getting A CD/DVD ROM drive, its good to get a second drive for burning, right? So, what should the second drive be like if I would like to burn CD's and DVD's? There are different names for burning drives, and I just don't understand it all. All I want is the absolute best burner for DVDs and CDs for under $100 at newegg. Thanks!!

By the way, I am really sorry if this is a repost from someone.

Thanks for the advice on those drives. I am trying to learn a little about what the different names for burners mean though.

Hi Joe, You don't really need a second CD reader to burn copies etc. It is a convenience to have one and is a little faster as you don't have to hang around to swap the disks. Nero or Adaptech/Roxio and most any other software will prompt you for the disks if you don't have another CD. Jim
