A new Video Card

Hello, I'm new to this Forum and I was wondering if I could get some help finding a new video card. My Computer keeps freezing, whenever I some pretty high end games. ( Most recently been playing Skyrim with a lot of mods). I sometimes can last a couple hours without freezing. My video card only has 1024 mb so 1gb.

These are my specs:
Windows 10
Processor: AMD FX(tm)- 6300 Six-Core 3500 mhz
16 gb ram
PCI Express 2.0 x 16
Power supply 500 watts
Video Card: AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series

Also I believe my video card is a GDDR5
My Ram memory is DDR3

I Think this all the specs i need ( Sorry this is the first time I am upgrading something in my computer.)
looking for one that has 3gb or up? if there aren't ones like that for 2.0 I know that 3.0 is backwards compatible i just don't want any performance lost or anything.

Thanks for the help! :3

So, you are saying the machine just locks up, and you have to hit the reset button?

That isn't automatically a GPU issue, could be lots of things.

Unfortunately for you, all low/mid range video cards are all out of stock, or are at inflated prices because of the mining craze. That means, you need to wait it out until retailers can re-stock up.

That said, I would get a minimum of 4GB, most likely a 560 or 570, depending on how much you want to spend.

Also, what brand PSU is that exactly?

Are there other realtailers that sale this?

And sorry what is PSU and 560 meaning?

EDIT: Nvm i found out u ment video card, but its a 3.0 slot mine is a 2.0, wont i get like less performance?
PSU- is that the power supply? If it is, it is Corsair CX 500

PCIE 2.0 is not really a bottleneck for any PCIE 3.0 cards, especially not lower end ones. You would be fine with a 560 or 570.

If you could actually get a 570 that would be great, its quite a bit more powerful then what you currently have.
