Nvidia backs out of ATI hockey match
Nvidia backs out of ATI hockey match - 12:43 pm EST - MrB
Adam over at the inquirer has reported that nVidia has backed out of the hockey game that they were planning during comdex. I know my ATI contacts are bitterly disappointed as they were looking for some good fun and camaraderie with nvidia guys. Guys email nvidia and encourage them to play!
SOURCES TOLD the INQUIRER that a hockey match due to be held between bitter rivals ATI and Nvidia at Comdex has been canned after Graphzilla cried off the game.
Nvidia is launching its NV30 at Comdex and the needle match had been projected for some time, but earlier this week the firm backed out of the power play, citing a reduced contingent as the reason for not playing.
ATI, being a Canadian firm, had hoped to trounce the Nvidia hockey team ? it sponsors the San Jose Sharks and Dan "MP3" Vivoli and Derek "the man" Perez are reckoned to be pretty good players themselves.
The event was to have been open to the meedja ? that's us folks ? and was slated as a charity event.
The sources told the INQ that ATI's team coach Barb Wilcox wondered if Nvidia was afraid of a team with a female goalie.
If she stopped Perez and Vivoli from scoring, that would surely be a blow to masculine pride?
Cheers,
Aquaman
