Now I do not know how much this has been done before, but I'm starting to notice a few shows who are going the route of showing a new episode each week, with no reruns or interruptions on a weekly basis, throughout the end of the season.
The last season of NYPD Blue is being run for 24 straight weeks, from beginning to end. The O.C. on FOX, after around 6-8 new episodes through Nov/Dec, starts showing 12 straight weeks of new episodes with no reruns in between. Alias on ABC, when it begins within the next couple of weeks, will be uninterrupted from beginning to end over it's 4th season run.
I really like seeing this, and I hope it becomes a more popular trend. Nothing sucks worse than watching your favorite show one week, then realizing it will be another month before a new episode will be aired. to the networks who are doing this.
