They are bringing a diesel version of the F30 (3 series) back into the US, probably a 320d (perhaps late 2013 or into 2014). Only problem is it won't have anywhere near the torque of the "old" 335d (the current european 320d has about 180hp and 280 ft/lbs).
Problem with the 335d was it really wasn't that fast and it didn't save that much gas over the new 328s. Plus it was really expensive. In america they had to put rebates and huge discounts on them. A lot of them even got used as loaner cars.
