Hey,
That's actually a pretty old article just brought back up as "new" on another site. I've heard of it, but I don't think people are going to go for it until they actually show us some games that are popular, IE: Final Fantasy or anything from Square or any other big company. It does sound sorta like a PS2 though. I mean, DVD Player, 30 games at launch...
<< Game software will be available in two formats: DVD disk, and download pack. This means that in addition to purchasing games at the store, you will be able to download many games directly to the IES L600 console! 30 games are scheduled for launch with the system, and the unit will come bundled with a major game title. >>
I'm sure they'll win over many fans by allowing users to spend 5 days downloading an entire DVD on the 56k modem. And quite frankly they're not going to be able to make a big impact against the big 3 (w/ MS, 4)

I don't know about this one. All the power to them, but me thinks they're a prime candidate for shorting
personaly i dont think they have a snoeballs chance in hell against sony microsoft and nintendo. so unless they really out together some good games or get good third party support it a lame duck
This was announced a few days after Xbox was announced. Since then no gaming publication/site has heard one peep. As for the "big 3" yep its Nintendo/Sega, Sony and Microsoft. Sega is in bed with Nintendo, they will probably not release another console, time will tell if they get in bed with anyone else.
I can't help but to laugh at this "Linux development community", ummm what development community(atleast when it comes to games).
that system sorta reminds me of Turbo Grafix 16. anybody remeber that? it came out before snes and genesis did and it totally died cuz it had like no marketing value at all. i mean i remember some tv ads but once sega and nintendo had their systems out, they totally squashed turbo grafix 16. Nevertheless, it was a good product.
I don't doubt it will be a good product... just like linux is a good OS, but with out the $$$ to back it and get some market share, it's bound to fail before it gets started!
