I just got a dog from the local shelter a bit over a month ago myself.

At first I was a bit concerned that he would be a PITA since he was already "Trained" (read not really trained at ALL) and I had had my other dog since he was just a month or so old and spend a LOT of energy to train him RIGHT! As it is turning out however, he's is learning QUITE well! And I even tend to think he tries that much harder since he knows I saved his ASS! ;) (That my just be wishful thinking on my part though) At any rate, he is shaping up to be a great doggy!

Good luck with the new member of the family!

Your daughter is gorgeous.

I don't know why I thought you only had grammar school kids.

Cute dog, btw.

Got more/better pix of the daughter????

LOL

I used to hate the little rat-dogs...fvcking ankle-biters...then. my wife talked me into this one:

Rat-Dog 1
While not a pound-puppie, he has some health problems, and was scheduled to be put down by the breeder, because he wasn't "High-Quality" We agreed to have him neutered, so he wouldn't pass on his "genetic defects", and has been a great companion dog for my wife.
Sooo, since I let her breach my "no Fat-Dog" rules, when the neighbors chihuahua had puppies a couple months ago.....
Yep, you guessed it...she fell in love with one of them too...but, they're not full-blooded chihuahuas, but crossed with yorkshire terriers...Their son nicknamed them "Chi-wookies:
Rat-Dog 2

Cute as can be...full of energy, and to her dismay, he has bonded with me...

Cute dog... although if my wife called me up all giggly-like saying that she had a "furprise" for me when I got home, I would expect something entirely different ;)

'tis true, i've volunteered for animal control, a no kill shelter, and have worked for vets for years. i've seen some very well trained and healthy dogs come out of pounds. people are just irresponsible when it comes to keeping their dogs at home.
