A new case that I just modded....

Got this cheapo case and painted it and loaded all my crap into it. I had to put the PS up front since there wasn't enough room to mount it normally because of my HS/F assembly. I knew this going in though. I had a desktop case I found at the dump that I did up nice but my temps were horrible in it so it had to go.

Yeah its tight in there, I gotta rearrange the wiring one of these days. Runs alot cooler than the desktop case though. This one runs about 37c idle with the fan on low, versus about 45-47c in the other one.

Why didn't you put the PSU where it's supposed to go? A single 120mm fan may be able to cool the whole system then. I have an InWin case like that and the side mounted PSU's 92mm fan did cooling duty with a big (for its day) Alpha CPU HS.

Well, I always give respect to case modders, it's alot harder than it looks. I'd say you did a fairly good job considering it was such a hard case to work with.

The CPU HS/F assembly sticks out past where the PSU goes.

I'm hep to that. But what if the /F is removed? Then the fan mounted in the PSU could preferably suck the warm air from the CPU out the rear of the case. Alternatively, perhaps the side panel and fan from the PSU could be removed to make room for the CPU fan to likewise suck (preferably) or even blow. In any case, a li'l ducting betwixt the HS and PSU would ensure the highest airflow. Naturally, the fan speed should be regulated based upon CPU temp.
