And it smells REALLY good. :|

And all our beef is frozen.

Woe is me.

Edit: Anybody know how to quickly dethaw beef? lol

Update: Our microwave is old and sucks. It actually has knobs :Q rather than buttons. 😛

It does have a defrost setting, however. It seemed to work good.. the meat started cooking and got hard in a couple of places. And even after letting it sit out for 10 minutes after nuking it for 10 minutes, it was still frozen in the very center.. but that quickly thawed.

This wasn't a flat of beef... It was a "beef log" for lack of a better term. Ground beef packed in plastic, with the ends pinched off.. like big sausage is packaged.

Anyway, I rolled up some burgerdogs.. 😀 A first for me.. anybody else ever done this? lol

The middle is coated with sea salt, white pepper and fresh crushed garlic cloves...

They're going to be teh yummay.

mmm... beef logs.. all ready for the grill..

lol

Only 8:30 here.. Just before sunset.. prime grilling time.

Microwave? I recently saw something somewhere that it is a good idea to microwave ground beef before grilling. It had something to do with the juices and dripping and cancer causing agents or something.

Hehe, actually they're pretty cool people.. But I'm not one to invite myself over.

You know, I have never, not even once used our Microwave's defrost setting. Mostly because we don't freeze meat much.

I suppose I could try it. What's the worst that will happen, it will cook a little? lol

OP, still looking for GRILLED burgers? go to BK.

or screw burgers and go to wendy's for spicy chicken sandwich instead?

I'm in the process of defrosting the beef now.. How long, 5 mins? It's 1lb..

We don't have any hamburger buns or bread, only hotdog buns...

So I'm going to roll the beef into logs and make burgerdogs. 😀

bah just throw them on the grill, grab a chair and have a beer

or switch your frozen ones with his, he won't notice. lol

Most microwaves have defrost settings for ground meat, just enter the weight and viola, unthawed meat. We only thawn meat here with the microwave, nothing bad happens.

set a fan up so that it is blowing over the frozen meat. flip every 5 minutes or so. should thaw in about 20 minutes.

or you could microwave on 10-20% power for about 10 minutes.
