A negative review of Dark Knight. (Not by me)...

I have yet to see Dark Knight but am anxious to go once it opens. However I am always a bit weary of films that receive this much and this type of attention. Certainly not the first time an artist has been highly praised for his last work before his death. There is a feeling that the community all needs to get behind the cheer and praise, that to not do so would be somehow immoral. Because of this I particularly like to read well written negative review of any such hyped film to see a counter argument. Here's one I just finished reading at Salon:

Agree or Disagree with it? If ou read the entire article you will notice that she actually likes Ledgers performance but dislikes the film as a whole.

Meh, I've read 'negative' reviews claiming they wanted something along the lines of a 'more fun film', I'm guessing kind of like how Iron Man was...but that was, IMO, just the reviewer most likely going into the movie treating it like another typical superhero comic book movie...of course his overall review was positive, but that was his main dislike of the movie...not being 'fun'

RT is currently @ 93%, most negative reviews are either going to be true niche dislikes (everyone has things they like and do not like, no matter what) or someone trying to stand out by purposefully going against tide.

My friend saw it and he said the one thing he hated about the movie was that even at 2.5 hours, it felt rushed. Other than that, he liked it alot.

I've come to like Salon.com's movie reviews, I've never read any of their other articles but have some to respect the majority of their movie reviews, though not all of course.
