I have yet to see Dark Knight but am anxious to go once it opens. However I am always a bit weary of films that receive this much and this type of attention. Certainly not the first time an artist has been highly praised for his last work before his death. There is a feeling that the community all needs to get behind the cheer and praise, that to not do so would be somehow immoral. Because of this I particularly like to read well written negative review of any such hyped film to see a counter argument. Here's one I just finished reading at Salon:

Agree or Disagree with it? If ou read the entire article you will notice that she actually likes Ledgers performance but dislikes the film as a whole.
Sorry, OP, just cleaning up the place as there have been an excessive # of Dark Knight threads. Your thread isn't getting much traffic though either -Anandtech Moderator DrPizza
