i can adjust the multiplier and fsb, but for the multipler i can only do increments of 1 and not .5, for example i can use multiplier settings at 7,8,9,10, but not at 7.5,8.5,9.5 and 10.5. Does anyone know what the problem is?

That tells you that you need to re-do your L1 bridges (however you did them... ie., with pencil or defogger stuff).

Sontag,
Poof is correct, but specifically the suspect L1 bridge is the leftmost one which connects to the .5X signal bus. When it's open the mobo cannot reset the default LO to a HI. So you can never get the 50Mhz increments.

Your problem also tells us you do not have an n50Mhz chip, else the .5X settings would be available from a default HI setting on that signal bus.

http://members.nbci.com/candjac/index.htm Duron/Tbird OC article expains all with pics, circuit diagrams, will point you right to the faulty L1 bridge.

And take poof's advice and use more permanent conductive solution such as the defogger repair kit material...article explains how to best apply and test the connections also.
